PA Senate Race Is Still 'Too Close To Be Called' As Casey Responds To McCormick Lawsuit

While the Associated Press may have called the Pennsylvania Senate race in favor of Republican Dave McCormick, the fight for the seat continues.

"The number of provisional ballots expected from areas that favor Senator Casey, like Philadelphia and its suburbs, is further proof that this race is too close to be called," the Bob Casey Campaign said in a Friday, Nov. 8 news release.

"As the McCormick campaign admitted in their own lawsuit this morning, the counting of these ballots could have an 'impact on the outcome of the election,'" the news release states.

There are still more than 100,000 ballots left to count with 98% of the votes reported as of Friday morning, Nov. 8. McCormick leads with 3,350,574 with Casey trailing behind with 3,315,913, according to official Pennsylvania election results.

McCormick has already declared victory, but has filed lawsuits in Philadelphia challenging about 20,000 provisional ballots that elections officials were going to consider counting this morning, a Philadelphia Inquirer report states.
